Negotiations Update – March 2020

Update from the Negotiations Committee

March 3, 2020

As you may have heard, Michelle Abidoye, management’s chief spokesperson at the bargaining table, has left Horizon. Several of you have asked us what impact her departure will have on negotiations. The short answer is little or none, but we want to explain the path forward.

Jeremy Ellison, HR Business Partner, who has been at the table for several months and who reported directly to Michelle, will assume the lead role for management’s committee. We’re pleased that management is not sending a new person to negotiations as it’s a plus that Jeremy is already up to speed. Additionally, DeeDee Caldwell has been actively involved and we will continue to work with her on the operational side of things.

Moreover, we are very close to bringing a tentative agreement to you for a vote. Most of the difficult issues have been resolved, and we are hammering out the final details with the hope of finalizing an agreement in the next few weeks.

In short, negotiations remain on track. Stay tuned for more negotiation news coming soon.

Our updates will also be posted on our website, https://afahorizon.org/ and on our official Facebook page, HZN AFA. “Like” our page to see posts in your newsfeed.
