Hello Fellow Flight Attendants!

Here is some information about what the ASHSC has been working on. Meeting topics
are included as well.
Please remember to ensure that your cabin is completely secure before the main cabin door is
closed. Compliance of a secure cabin is crucial for a safe and secure work environment.

Brief summary of issues discussed:
- Scheduling Flight Attendant hearing tests.
-Follow up on lifting heavy bags creating injuries for FAs. Aligning more with AS Inflight
FAM.( Injury Prevention) Ergonomic testing results to come in this month.( No
information on testing has been received from the actual testing day, as well as the
findings as of yet.)
- Hearing test result information.( 3rd party. New vendor being looked for)
- Review of information regarding de-escalation training/communication amongst divisions
and CRM.
- Self -Defense training enhancement.
- Protections from crew assault/threat levels.
-Broken First Class glass/dishware.
-PRE Losa enhancements/training.
Summary of Work by the Committee
New news. Exciting win with the ASHSC! QX Safety is on board and moving forward with the
Anti-harassment signage, giving the public a visual for additional protections of FAs( Crews)
AAG is the lead on this project.

ASHSC MEC/International is working on a public announcements regarding zero tolerance of
any type of assault on a Flight Attendant. More protections for our working group.

Working on getting additional training for FAs regarding de-escalation/ mental health resources.
VR training being discussed for 2025 training.

Enhanced Self defense training. Confirmation that carriers have been mandated to provide
enhanced training for FA protection. (Impaired working group ,July. ) Nov. may see the
beginning of this progress
Discussions regarding scheduling and fatigue. Concerns brought up, long days, short rest.
Circadian swaps and long sits.
ASHSC member was cut from broken FC glassware. Reports have been filed. Audit for what
stations this is occurring at.

Monthly committee meeting went well.
Conversation around self defense training enhancement, First Class Beverage Service and
safety concerns, such as missing crucial observations of threat levels in the cabin , such as
Passengers boarding impaired by drugs/alcohol.
Discussed in ERC as well. Bags in the cabin.
Addition of training regarding TEM and the importance of writing detailed narratives.
