MEC Officer Election Notice

OCTOBER 30, 2025

The term of office for our current Master Executive Council (MEC) Officers will conclude on December 31, 2025. The voting members of the MEC (LEC Presidents) will elect new MEC Officers on December 5, 2025.

Each Master Executive Council shall have the following elected Officers: President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer. These officer positions are responsible for serving as the coordinating council for the membership of the airline and carrying out the decisions of the MEC. These positions are elected by the Local Executive Council (LEC) Presidents, who are the voting members of MEC.

Eligibility

All Officers of the Master Executive Council must be active members in good standing from that airline.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the MEC Officers are defined in Article VII.C.2 of the AFA Constitution & Bylaws. 

Term of Office

The regular term of office is for three years, beginning on January 1, 2026, and concluding on December 31, 2028.

Expressing Interest and Interview Scheduling

The MEC will hold interviews and conduct elections in a Special Meeting of the MEC scheduled for December 5th, 2025. If you are interested in interviewing, please plan to bid around these dates or adjust your schedule accordingly. While in-person interviews are preferred, a virtual interview via Google Meet may be requested if travel or scheduling presents a challenge. 

The meeting will be conducted in person in Portland, Oregon (location is TBD but will be near the airport). Virtual options will be available for interviews if you are unable to bid around this date, otherwise please plan to arrange your schedule accordingly to accommodate.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to submit their interest by 5 PM Pacific Time on Friday, November 28, 2025, to facilitate interview scheduling.Interested candidates should complete the Commitment to Serve form and submit an expression of interest online. Candidates for each position will be published on our website.
