PBS bid buildout - AFA does not mutually agree to PBS Admin settings
This month, the PBS Committee was unable to reach an agreement on one of the administrative settings. Specifically, the minimum number of days in a reserve block. The AFA members of the PBS Committee wanted to set the minimum number of days to two, while the Company members of the PBS Committee wanted it set to three.
Article 6.D.3 of our contract specifies, “The Joint PBS Committee, consisting of two Association members and two Company members will serve as the PBS Administrator. The Committee will mutually determine any necessary controls, constraints or options.” As we were not able to reach a mutual agreement, AFA will be filing a grievance on the violation of this language.
As this is the first time the Committee has been unable to reach agreement since the implementation of PBS in 2017, we wanted to give you an update on what happened and why it happened. Please feel free to reach out to your AFA leadership if you have any questions.
In Solidarity,
Joshua Haimes (Alternate) and Lexie Massey, Joint PBS Committee – AFA Members
