Refresher; Sick Leave Bank usage & AFA Agreement with Inflight Management

Horizon Air (QX) has agreed to an interim measure that significantly protects Flight Attendants' employment records:

  • No Discipline for Sick Leave Use: During the period before a new contract (CBA) is ratified, QX will not assess "occurrences" (disciplinary action) for any absences where a Flight Attendant uses sick leave from their bank.
  • Retroactive Occurrence Removal: Flight Attendants in Boise (BOI) and Anchorage (ANC) who reached a disciplinary level due to past absences that would have been protected for Oregon (OR) or Washington (WA) Flight Attendants should now have those occurrences retroactively removed.

In short: continued protection against discipline for using sick leave is in effect, and past occurrences for BOI and ANC Flight Attendants should have already been retroactively removed. This is a critical gain that safeguards job security while full PSL provisions are being negotiated.
