Council 16 Officer nominations open through April 16th

2025 Election Notice

In accordance with Article VIII of the AFA-CWA Constitution & Bylaws, all Councils in Category III must nominate and elect officers for the term beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30,2028 (three-year term). Local Council Officers to be elected will be LEC President, LEC Vice President, & LEC Secretary.

 


You must be an active member in good standing, to run for office and to cast a secret ballot during the election.

 


Self-nominations and elections are governed by procedures outlined in the Association’s
Constitution & Bylaws, Article VIII and the AFA Policy Manual.

SELF-NOMINATIONS: 

 

Self-nominations will be accepted from 4/1/25 through 4/16/25


ELECTION:

  • Voting Notices with credentials to access the ballot will be mailed on 5/2/25.
  • Election polls open and voting begins: 5/7/25 12 PM ET
  • Election polls close and the count takes place: 5/21/25 2 PM ET

April 2025 Negotiations Update

AFA and management met on April 16-17, 2025, to continue negotiations for our new contract. The AFA Committee consists of MECP Lisa Davis Warren, Heather Coleman, Lexie Massey (all current Flight Attendants), and our Staff Attorney and Negotiator, Kimberley Chaput.

Inflight management issued discipline and your contractual rights

AFA has learned that Horizon Air management has been issuing discipline to Flight Attendants without providing the individual Flight Attendant an opportunity to meet and confer and/or secure Union representation prior to issuing discipline.
