MEC Update - MFR Crew Hotel/Grievance Committee/Negotiations/EAP Wellness/IMD Refresh

MEC Hotel and Transportation Committee

***MFR Overnights from September - November 2025***

We recently received notice from Horizon management that our primary MFR hotel  will be undergoing a renovation beginning September 7th, and that it will be completed by November 30th. Horizon management has chosen to secure the September crew overnights at one of our secondary properties. Located a few blocks from our primary hotel, the same off-property amenities are available. Transportation will be handled by the hotel's shuttle, which will be on-demand for our crews.

They are still working on the relocation for our October and November crews. Horizon management will continue to relocate crews in MFR until they have confirmed that the renovations at the primary hotel have been completed.

AFA is fully aware that this hotel is less than satisfactory other than for emergency purposes.  AFA, along with IBT, are requesting alternate secondary properties be utilized until the renovations at our primary are completed.

MEC Grievance Committee

We are pleased to report that the AFA and inflight management have resolved several outstanding grievances. On July 22-23, 2025, we mediated several grievances arising from updates and changes to our AIMS/eCrew scheduling program. Connor Parker from the National Mediation Board helped us with the process. A summary of each case and the settlement we reached will be sent as soon as a date in the agreement has been corrected and signed, and a corrected list of impacted FAs has been provided to AFA. We are back in mediation next week in SEA, September 9th and 10th and hope to have more news to share after that session.

Negotiations Committee

We will be back in ORD for our next session with the Mediator for Section 6 Mediation on September 16th. We remain hopeful we will get through our review of all open issues and begin to mediate our first Article. As we previosuly reported we have Meal and Rest and Compensation to complete before we can begin.

Our Mobiliation Committee is focused on getting FAs to send in their selfie RED pin photos with their flying partners, Fire and Union Stories for our website. As we begin active mediation we will be launching new ways to become involved and use your voice.

The Committee will be hosting a Q & A for members on September 11th at 1300. An invite to register for this event will be posted on our website as well as on our official social media site - Facebook (HZN AFA) by end of day tomorrow.

IMD/iPhone Refresh

Many of you may have read the email management recently sent to Flight Attendants regarding the IMD/iPhone refresh to the iPhone 16. This refresh is expected to take less than 15 minutes of our time. The Agreement is posted below for your review. We ensured this agreement included a pay component as well as an option to have your new device sent to your home address if you will not be in one of the bases that has onsite support or do not have a trip or report time that touches the onsite schedule. There is a new option in this Agreement. You now have the option to trade your device at recurrent. This is not a requirement, only a third option that may be more convenient for you.

We are pleased to share that this refresh should take far less time than the last one, for those who were here at that time. This refresh is expected to take less than 15 minutes, total. The Agreement is posted below for your review.

Please note that if you are on a leave of absence, you may trade in your device using any of the options listed in the Agreement; however, the credit will not be reflected in your pay until you return to work.
