Wishing You a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

December 25, 2019

Dear Friends and Flying Partners: Happy Holidays to you on this Christmas Day. Often when people think of the holidays, they think of flying. As Flight Attendants, we safely bring people together – 47.5 Million people this holiday alone. And of course, the best part of our job is being together.Whether you’re traveling on days off or working this week, take a moment to say an extra Thank You to each other and all of our aviation family, including federal workers at security checkpoints and catering workers who are fighting hard shoulder-to-shoulder with us to declare, “One Job Should Be Enough.” The holidays is a natural time for us all to connect and feel the strength of solidarity as we prepare for 2020 and a new decade of lifting the value and recognition of our work. We know it takes all of us to make planes fly and every job is important for our work as aviation’s first responders. Watching seasonal movies is often a big part of holiday traditions, and how can we not love opening monologue of Love Actually? It celebrates our work without directly mentioning our role:“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.”

Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas.

Fly safe with love,
