Update For HSA Impacted Flight Attendants

Update for HSA Impacted Flight Attendants

AFA received notice that numerous Flight Attendants had not received the Company contribution into their HSA accounts. Some had been missing contributions from January and more were missing contributions in July. The MEC immediately requested an audit of all participants who should have had deposits in 2022. This audit involves not only the AS Benefits department but also the third-party provider, Alight. Unfortunately, the Alight representative for our account is in Florida and was impacted by Hurricane Ian. The benefits department finally received the audit results yesterday and are now completing their review of the audit results. They will provide the results to us next week. Their goal is to add contributions to all impacted FAs by Friday, October 28th. It will then take a few days to post to the individual bank accounts. AS benefits has agreed that this is a priority, and they are focused on resolving this issue as quickly as possible. Based on the audit results, we plan to file an MEC grievance on behalf of all impacted flight attendants.

The MEC will hold interviews and conduct elections during our upcoming MEC meeting on Friday, November 4, 2022.  The meeting will be conducted in person, location to be determined.  Please bid around this date, or plan to arrange your schedule accordingly to accommodate.
