How Do I Know if I Have a Substance Use Disorder

As our holiday season fast approaches, celebrations, and gatherings of loved ones also
take place. With some holiday gatherings, there will be alcohol served, and like anything, we must be aware of ‘risky” alcohol use.

The National Institute on Alcohol and Alcohol Abuse’s (NIAA) definition of risky drinking is gender based.

Men
  •  Consuming 5 or more drinks on any day or 15 or more per week.

Women
  •  Consuming 4 or more drinks on a day or 8 or more drinks per week.
